A slick rechargeable touchscreen remote from Logitech : Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote with Color Touchscreen

If you owned the 880 (or 890) the 'One' is a welcome addition. In fact, the remote is best laid out, the screen and feel are roughly flawless, the buttons are well lit.
The problems come with this being early in the game: The commands and mismatches the remote has are still many; while the 880 controls your law without any issues, the One had 2 mismaps for a Vsx-94 receiver, has too short Ir bursts for Hl-R Samsung Tv models, cannot learn short-burst Ir (for example the Nyko remote for the Ps3 - which the 880 has No problems with).
Logitech 2nd level withhold for Harmony is very good, and ordinarily can help - production changes on your profit that the software has no entrance to. But, wait half a year and you hopefully would not have those headaches.

Also, prominent to note, the Ir field of foresight is Much More Narrow than the 880 and 890; while the old could be pointed roughly in any place and the Ir signal would hit your component at any angle, the One has issues with some tool with recessed Ir receivers - such as a lot of receivers by Denon and Pioneer. Not Bad for the Price : VIZIO 8-Inch Tablet with WiFi - VTAB1008

I just got one of these, at Costco, as a gift for my sister. Initially I was skeptical about the build quality, as the device is in effect cheap ($289 at Costco currently). I read some definite reviews online and saw one being used by a colleague of mine and I was sold. To begin with, let me clarify, this is no Ipad 2 (Even though it is lighter than one). But for the price point, this is a great investment. For me a pad is supposed to be my internet entrance device and a video playback device on the go. This pad does both excellently. While playing Hd video's there were some 'blocking' effects, but nothing that will bother you. The video's otherwise played flawlessly. I was able to view flash article as well without any issues. My sister has already tried multiple applications from android shop and they have worked fine till now. One of the best highlight about this is it's Ir blaster, which I found very beneficial and she has managed to use the vizio tablet for her Tv, Dvd player, e.t.c (I dont remember all the devices she managed, but she was quite happy with it).

To summarize the positives
1) Great build quality
2) Plays Flash content
3) Ir Blaster
4) Stereo sound in any orientation (It has three speakers)
5) Battery life (I was able to use it for almost 8 hrs)

In terms of negatives,
1) There is no 3-G support. I cannot connect to internet when there is no Wi-Fi.
2) Takes a microscopic while to charge. But i will say it is manageable.
3) Uses android Gingerbread. Which is a microscopic older release. (Although i read online that they will be releasing Honeycomb, the latest android version, later).

Final thoughts:
This device is in effect usable and, for the price, i think this is a great buy. I intend to use this as a gift as well.

Spring for a hard drive! : Xbox 360 4GB Console

First off, let's hope these new designs don't suffer any of the same (or new!) problems -- RroD anyone?

You have a few options in what bundle you get. You can pick between a 4Gb and 250Gb hard drive. Kinect will be bundled later this year with some other packages.

These pros and cons are in effect for comparing the new 360 S with the older 360 models.

Pros:
- New sleek design. level black matte finish. Meshes nicely with my other A/V components.
- More vents. New side vent. Top and bottom vents seem to have a wee more airflow.
- Quiet. Runs much more quietly than the old models.
- Built in Wi-Fi supports 802.11 b/g/n. Mine connected flawlessly to my wireless router initially. I then changed it to work over Ethernet since I already had it wired.
- supplementary Usb ports. Five total - two in front, three in back. Easy to add supplementary drives.
- optic audio port added for those not using Hdmi but want the better audio fidelity.
- Hard drive is internal - helping make the build smaller.


Cons:
- bottom vent, if unit used vertically, completely blocked and very warm. Doesn't make me feel good using it in this position with all of the heat problems of the old builds.
- No Hdmi cable included.
- No preserve for Blu-Ray. Ok ... I know Microsoft doesn't want to cozy up to Sony and pay licensing fees, but this would have made the 360 a perfect system and could have in effect crushed Ps3 sales.
- Still lacking in preserve for some codecs for playing video files, but this is more of a software issue than hardware at this point.
- Runs hot. Not sure if the cooling is enough but time will tell. With that said, my other A/V components can run just as hot but they never suffered the fate(s) of the original Xbox360s.
- introductory warehouse options are limited. 4Gb or 250Gb -- and costly $ per gigabyte. better off buying your own non-Microsoft external Hd.


All in all, it's an perfect unit for under $200. Some of the normal features of the 360: Compatible with all the old games as well as the new Kinect sensor (sold separately or bundled). It makes a very good media player that can play files from attached drives or your media server (Pc) and has a Netflix application for streaming movies for those that have Xbox Live and a Netflix account.
